Mitcham Common the place I played some of my finest football. The other great public space for football was of course the equally depressing and poorly equipped Purley Way. What a joy I had looking at the Windmill pub and unless I'm completely bonkers seem to remember it was located near a roundabout where the roads that split Mitcham Common crossed. Thanks pal its been some while since I have been back to England , Croydon is my home town so perhaps time permitting you could do this old Croydonian a favour a put a few photos of the place on your site.
